And you are making this assertion on an atheist site that is full of X-Christians and X-Muslims. The first thing you should look at changing is the thought that you can not change. The fact is, you do not have a choice. You are not the same person with the same ideas that you were when you were 5 years old. At 8 years old you had a whole new perspective on the world. What about at 10 years old, 15, 20, 25? You do not have a choice when it comes to, ‘not changing,’ You are in fact a process and not a thing. We think of ourselves as objects, things, probably to avoid looking at our own mortality. The fact is, Buddha sort of got this one right. Life is like the flame of a candle. It will burn out some day.
