Going against the Grain

Also breathtakingly ignorant. :man_facepalming:

Light Hearted’s Benefit : The oldest existing copies of the bible***is the Codex Sinaiticus which dates to the third or fourth century.

Far older are Egyptian funerary texts have been found in tombs predating Christianity by millennia .

The New Testament was actually written down no earlier than 50 years after the putative death of Jesus

The Torah was finally written down around 700 bce. Bits seem to have been lifted from the Sumerian Epic of Gilgamesh (ca 2100 bce). I refer specifically to Noah Flood myth There are also some interesting similarities between the code of Hammurabi (ca 1754 bce) and Mosaic law.***

Egyptian funerary texts on tomb walls also predate Christianity by millennia.

The revered Hindu Mahabharata is the world’s longest epic poem. It was composed between 400 and 200 bce.

(((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((0))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

By ‘Mosaic Law’ I mean the whole law of 613 commandments contained in the
whole Torah, not just the ten in Exodus. Like Hammurabi’s Law, Mosaic law is based on compensation as much as anything.

Islam’s Sharia law is based on Mosaic law. Even today, where it holds sway, there are times a person accused of murder may avoid the death penalty for murder by playing blood money.
