In the last election we had the choice between a shit sandwich and a triple-decker shit sandwich. Fortunately the shit sandwich was elected, which was a small consolation.
I suspect 2024 is going to be worse. I think Biden will not run for re-election and Trump will. I can’t see any viable Democrats to stand against Trump, so we may be in for another four years of hell. Four years of a lame-duck Trump are downright frightening to any sane person.
Biden has low opinion poll ratings, and it’s not hard to understand why. He was primarily elected because people were tired of Trump’s incompetence, especially his handing of the Covid pandemic. He was not elected to try to completely overhaul the infrastructure of the country with trillion dollar “Build Back Better” plans.
